View from your deck. Old picturesque barn at the edge of the meadow by Buck Bay.
Our comfortable guest house is in Olga, overlooking Buck Bay, on Orcas Island. Its large windows and spacious deck face open meadows ringed by hills covered with tall pine trees. A beautiful south-westerly water view looks over the East Sound, Lopez Island, the ferries passing by,and in the distance, the Olympic Peninsula mountain range. Our small beach is reached by a short walk through the meadow.
Our accommodations include: one bedroom, with a queen Simmons Pillow -Top bed; a double Simmons sofa bed in the living room; and one bathroom. The furnishings include 1920’s English and American Oak antiques and easy-going contemporary. The kitchen is fully equipped , including a dishwasher, large refigerator/freezer, and microwave . The bed linens include down quilts, and we provide bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer, and many other small items to make your stay a pleasant one. Moran State Park is two miles from Olga and includes four of the five lakes on Orcas Island. In the summer there are boating, fishing and swimming at Cascade Lake in the Park, as well as many hiking trails and Mt.Constitution, the highest point in the San Juan Islands at 2400 ft. The Cafe Olga, Orcas Island Artworks, Olga Store and Olga Community Dock are all within walking distance of Buck Bay. Spring Bay Inn and Lieberhaven Resort are both close by with kayaking and boating facilities.
The best things we provide are peace and quiet in a private, gorgeous, country location. Orcas Island is approached by the Washington State Ferries from Anacortes, or by air from Seattle. It is a bit difficult to get here, but it is worth it. In 15 years we have had many returning guests, many of whom have become good friends. We enjoy sharing our guest house and the Olga area and will welcome you warmly.
